The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), an agency under the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, made a public presentation and illustration of Solar Powered Electronic Voting Machine with Cloud-Based Election Result Collation.
During the presentation, the Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI, Engr. Prof. M.S. Haruna stated that the Solar Powered Electronic Voting Machine will address most of the current Electoral challenges with several advantages.
He said the Machine will eliminate ballot box snatching, multiple thumb printing, failure of the card reader, alteration of data between polling units and collation centers. There is also provision for real-time election result as voting progresses, diaspora voting. Also incorporated is facial recognition, radio frequency identification, etc.
